By now most of us have probably played the Celebrity Faceoff game. Some of the pairings are easy (Oprah versus practically anybody comes to mind), but some are a lot harder. Some are tough because the two celebrities don't even seem comparable (Anderson Cooper vs. Natalie Portman). But still others are tough because of how similar they are.

 Even Stev/phenCeleb Faceoff: Even Stev/phen

A few weeks ago I was faced with this challenge: Who's more famous - Steve Carell or Stephen Colbert?
Are you serious?! That's like asking me which of the Olsen twins is more famous. (Except harder, because I'm pretty sure Mary Kate would win.)
Hmmm... both started on The Daily Show. Steve stars in a successful primetime comedy that (normally) airs once a week while Colbert hosts a cable show (with his name in the title) that airs four times a week. Carell has a respectfully successful movie career, but Colbert (almost) ran for president.
Pitting these two friends against each other reminds me of the hilarious segment called Even Stevphen that they used to do on The Daily Show. (It was sort of a Point/Counterpoint routine that often ended in tears and/or physical aggression and always in yelling.)

Fun Fact: Carell and Colbert met in the late '80s while at Chicago's famed Second City, an improvisational comedy troupe known for being the training ground for many future SNL-ers and other comedians.

PS: I have no idea which one ended up being the correct answer. (I'm going to say... both! Except that's not how it works, is it?)
